Brought to life by Richard Price (The Night Of – another fantastic miniseries on HBO), The Outsider is an unnerving & addictive adaptation of Stephen King’s novel with the same name.
A unique detective procedural dunked in inimitable Stephen King lore and horror, the show grows from strength to strength as it reaches its midway mark all the while being steered impeccably by Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline, Darkest Hour) who has steadily entered the fray of extremely versatile actors, effortlessly slipping in and out of roles – along with a terrific cast in Jason Bateman, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Camp, Julianne Nicholson and Derek Cecil.
With 4 more episodes to go (10 in all) HBO seems to have bolstered its arsenal of solid limited series offerings. This is Stephen King done right! Definitely give this one a go.
