Charlize Theron is made for films like these. Period.
Based on the graphic novel with the same name, this film could have gone either way but the creators stuck to their guns (pun intended) and rolled out a surprisingly solid film.
With ‘The Old Guard’ Netflix has seemingly stumbled upon an entirely fresh franchise that has so much more to offer than just action.
Don’t get me wrong this is an action movie through and through – it could do with a lot more though – but where it truly shines is when it delves deeper into the lore associated with its characters.
With 10 novels out there, it’s safe to say that there’s enough material to chew upon. Get ready for the next big franchise because it this point, the sky truly is the limit.
P.S. Can’t wait for that Furiosa spin-off though!
