with Ratik Sharma
Part I
Ratik, has always been someone who loves technology. This love has materialized into various things over the years. As a kid, it was all about playing Pokemon crater or club penguin on the computer after school. As a teenager, he was jailbreaking people’s iPod devices, teaching himself Photoshop on the internet and running a (moderately successful) tech blog and YouTube channel to teach people what he knew.
While doing all these things out of interest and a pursuit of joy, he unknowingly picked up on design, programming and web development skills along the way. Ratik never really consciously planned on learning any of these, they were just a way for him to create something. Little did he know that he’d be using these very skills to build a career in the future!
The idea of making things and publishing them is very dear to Ratik. While he is officially a software engineer now, he still considers himself a “maker” at heart. Software is just one tool he has in his arsenal and he still makes all kinds of things in his free time – be it random coffee related clips, music covers and experiments, or even a podcast which he worked on last year.
I had a blast recording this one!
While the title does say Tech, it takes an unconventional path as we talk about Ratik’s mantra of creating and sharing content all the while learning along the way. The episode focusses on his passion for podcasting, music, programming and all the tech that has inspired and influenced up until now.
