Pixar is back with a beautiful ‘Soul’ searching rip roaring journey across dimensions and is at its very contemplative, metaphysical & ambitious best – as it explores the realm of existentialism and what it means to be alive.
The animation studio seemed to have lost its way after Disney’s acquisition, pandering to nostalgia with a slew of sequels which really didn’t need to be developed.
However, ‘Soul’ looks inwards and harkens back to Pixar’s roots – a mesmerising story of inspiration bursting with life. It’s also a fitting tribute to Jazz all the while acting as a perfect metaphor for humanity.
‘Soul’ re-ignites a spark with stellar storytelling and manages to gorgeously visualise a joyous, celebratory and momentous occasion.
Maybe. Just maybe.
The purpose of life… is life itself.
