Band of Brothers: Gear up for one heckuva Experience!⁣

I recently finished watching the 10 episode HBO limited series and boy what a ride! ‘Band of Brothers’ recounts the incredible sequence of events as Easy Company (the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division) is deployed and parachuted into Europe. ⁣

Synopsis: “The story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division from 1942 to the end of World War II. A collection of fifty portraits illustrated by archive footage and recounted in voice.”⁣

An impressive feat accomplished by the production team – with Spielber and Hanks joining hands once again after ‘Saving Private Ryan’ – and an A-List ensemble cast in Damian Lewis (Homeland, Billions), Neal McDonough, Ron Livingston, Scott Grimes, Donnie Wahlberg, David Schwimmer, including a sprinkle of some interesting and surprising cameo appearances – Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Dominic Cooper, Jimmy Fallon, Simon Pegg & James McAvoy.⁣

Based on Stephen E. Ambrose’s 1992 non-fiction book with the same name, this right here is one of the best, most intense and most accurate retellings (according to War Veterans) of not only the story following Easy Company, but also of the War. ⁣

P.S. ‘The Pacific’ is a companion series – again by Speilberg and Hanks – which focuses on the United States Marine Corps’s actions in the Pacific Theater of Operations within the wider Pacific War. There’s part 3 in development currently with Apple Tv+ called ‘Masters of the Air’ based on the 8th Air Force during WWII. Stay tuned for updates!⁣
